When looking at ways to improve your performance, not enough consideration is given to the importance of healthy living. It doesn't matter whether you want to improve your writing skills, become a better accountant, or improve your performance on the playing field. Eating healthy and living well, are great ways to move to the front of the pack.

If you eat food laden with sugar and fat you are setting yourself up for failure both physically and mentally. Have you ever been working on an article and found your mind in a bit of a fog? You just can't remember the word you're looking for, or you simply seem at a loss for words? Consider your diet as a potential culprit.

Eating too much sugar will upset your blood sugar levels, which can cause you to become lethargic and affect your ability to concentrate. On the other side of the coin, eating a well balanced diet, with lots of vegetables, lean meats, and fish, will improve your mental sharpness.

There are countless studies supporting the link between healthy eating and improved brain performance, so don't discount the importance of eating right! How about you?  Have you found your performance improved when you started eating better? Leave a comment. I'd love to hear about it!
