Get Organized, Be Prepared, Don't Miss an Opportunity

How many times have you had a great idea, forgot to write it down, and forgot all about it by the time you were in a position to write it down? There couldn't be anything more frustrating! But we've all experienced it.

How can we avoid this? We need to be organized and prepared at all times. Some might keep a notepad next to their bed for that Eureka moment as your slowly waking up from a nights sleep. What about when you're out and about and inspiration strikes? Perhaps you can carry around a small notebook, but it's a little unnecessary.

You have the tool with you all the time. At least most of us do. How many of us carry a smart phone with us all the time? In today's world it's become an extra appendage!

Most smart phones come with some type of native note taking app. Some are better than others, but they're usually a little limited. With all the apps available how do you know what's the best choice?

I would suggest choosing an app that is available across platforms, and one that saves your notes to be viewed on any one of those platforms. Nothing would be more frustrating than losing all your valuable information because you accidentally dropped your phone in the neighbours swimming pool!

I've searched for this Holy Grail of apps, but always come up disappointed. Today, I finally found the app I've been looking for! It's not a new app, and I knew of its existence, but for some reason I'd never given it serious consideration in the past.

So you're probably wondering what's this app that's got me so excited? Evernote, it's available on all major platforms - IOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows etc. Which is good, because I'm one of those people that refuses to give up on Blackberry.

I use a Blackberry Z10 as my phone, but an IPad as my tablet. Evernote let's me create a note on one, and it's immediately available on my other platform. Oh happy days!

You simply create a log in using your email, create your password, and presto, you're off and running. It's seamless, and very simple to use.

The app is full of features, and I've yet to explore all of them, but I like what I've seen so far. You can create separate notebooks for different categories, such as work, family entertainment etc. Whatever you like really. Within each notebook you simply click on new, type your note, and it's saved to that notebook.

I don't know about you, but keeping organized has always been a bit of a struggle for me. With Evernote I think I've found the answer. If you want to try it out follow the link here . How do you keep organized? Let me know. I'm always open to new ideas!
