Visualizing Success - Get an Edge on the Competition

Elite athletes often use a technique called visualization to enhance their performance. You've probably heard about this. For example, an elite quarterback might take half an hour before the big game and visualize his plays inside his head. In each play he throws the perfect pass. A touchdown every time!

As he does this, he envisions all possible scenarios. He's prepared for anything by game time. When the game is played for real, so the theory goes, he will actually perform better because he's already pictured it in his mind.

All well and good you might be thinking, but what the heck does this have to do with me? Well the technique may have been popularized by athletes, but we all can benefit from its' application.

Consider using it in your daily life. For example, as a blogger, or writer in general, you might want to picture where you want  to be a year from now. Do you plan on writing articles for your blog on a daily basis, or maybe just two or three times a week? Whatever your goal make it part of your day.

Whether you are a stay at home mom, or a high powered business women the technique can be of use to you. Picture your day from the time you roll out of bed, to the time you jump back in bed. See yourself setting aside the hour (or whatever time you a lot) for your blog writing duties, and picture yourself writing your best article yet.

I know to many this may seem like a waste of time, but it has proven to be effective. I've tried it out and noticed a notable improvement in my production.

Give it a shot! What do you have to lose? Let me know how it works for you. I'd love to hear about it.
