We've all met the guy in the image above right? Blah, blah, blah. You know him. Likes to hear himself talk, but has no time to listen to others. If you don't use pictures in your blog posts, this is the impression you're giving to your visitors.
We're all familiar with the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words." It's a cliche, but it doesn't make it any less valid. There is so much power in an image. We are, without a doubt, visual creatures. What captures your imagination more than a well placed picture in the middle of a powerful presentation?
If you visit the more successful blogs you will find pictures front and centre. I can't stress this enough. If you want to create a successful blog, you must include images!
Think about some of the blogs you've visited. Do you recall any that didn't employ pictures where appropriate? I can't. I'm not suggesting you should throw in a picture here and there just for the sake of it. It needs to be appropriate. It needs to compliment your words. If you do it right, you will undoubtedly drive more traffic to your site.
Keep in mind not to over do it though. If you include an image after every paragraph you will disrupt the flow of your article. There has to be a fine balance. There's no secret formula, but if you visit other blogs you will start to get a sense of what works and what doesn't.
